Digital Literacy: Home

The Digital Literacy Framework was developed by Virginia Tech and is a layered approach to digital literacy. The core competencies include identity and wellbeing, discovery, evaluation, ethics, creation and scholarship, communication and collaboration, and curation. The key values are curiosity, reflection, equity and social justice, creativity, and participation.

Digital literacy is important due to privacy concerns, digital footprints, uncivil online behavior, fake news, internet scams, echo chambers, legitimacy concerns, rise of alt-right, and online radicalization (extreme ideologies). - Learning for Justice
